I used to avoid starting my own perfume brand whenever people encouraged me to do so. I blamed it on a lack of courage and money, but in truth, I was afraid.
Over time, I learned to doubt myself — shaped by a former boss who questioned my ability, a past relationship that weakened my confidence, and a family that made me feel I was never fully ready for something ambitious.
It was only after a breakdown and a long conversation with a therapist that I realized what truly held me back was not one person, but a state I had been living in.
“EX” is not only an ex-lover. It is a latest boss, an old family pattern, a past friendship, and a former version of oneself. It is a condition in which past experiences continue to shape the present unconsciously.
EX can be toxic, but it is also formative. Instead of denying or erasing the past, I chose to extract something meaningful from it. This decision became the foundation of EXHOLIC.
EXHOLIC is built on the belief that what once hurt us can be distilled into something wearable. We do not glorify pain, nor do we reject memory. We refine it. We turn emotional residue into scent, and fracture into energy. Each fragrance is an attempt to transform personal history into a new form of presence.
Our philosophy is “distill the mess, wear the spirits”. EXHOLIC is not about obsession with the past, but about growth through it — a reminder that even if something has been broken, it does not have to wither.
